Maryse Lassonde is since July 2018 President of the Conseil supérieur de l’éducation at Gouvernement du Québec. From January 2012 to June 2018, she was scientific director of the Fonds de recherche du Québec en Nature et Technologies (FRQNT). Emeritus professor at the Psychology Department of Université de Montréal, her research studied among others the cognitive effects of epilepsy in children and of concussions using cerebral imagery. She also held the senior CRSNG Research Chair of Canada in developmental neuropsychology from 2001 to 2013.
Mrs Lassonde was elected president of the Royal Society of Canada in 2014, of which she was a member since 1997, and was awarded the title of Chevalière de l’Ordre national du Québec in 1999. Since her appointment as FQRNT scientific director in 2012, she has been involved in the promotion of diversity in sciences, notably in the organization of the Gender Summit 11 in November 2017 in Montreal, and the implementation of the SAGA project in Quebec, to name only a few. The SAGA UNESCO project aims to improve the situation of women in STEM, by the elaboration of policies targeting gender equality through specially developed indicators.
