Professor

Departement of Physics

Université de Montréal

Principal investigator of the Design and Application of Electronic Nanobiosensors research unit at the Institute of Research in Immunology and Cancer, Delphine Bouilly is also professor at the Physics Department of Arts and Sciences Faculty at Université de Montréal. Her PhD research
on carbon nanotubes lead her to collaborate with chemists and physics engineers and she is now interested in ultra miniaturized circuits and electronic sensors allowing the study of biological molecules. The goal of her work is to develop new tools to detects biomarkers associated to different types of cancer, and to understand better the mechanics of elementary
macromolecules, in the hope of improved drugs and treatments design.

The Marie-Curie scholarship, André-Hamer prize’s and very prestigious Banting Award’s recipient got involved early on in her studies to interest young people to physics by giving conferences in cegeps. She is interested in the societal impact of scientific research and promotes diversity, as can be seen from her participation to the International Science and Society Forum and more recently to the Women&Science activité organized by Montreal
Science Center.
