Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Ph.D., Carnegie Institute of Technology, 1960
Professor Ambegaokar has general interests in the area of low temperature and condensed matter physics. His current work is on some aspects of disordered superconductors, on point-contact spectroscopy in normal and superconducting tunneling systems containing structural disorder, and on even vs. odd electron-number effects in capacitatively isolated superconducting islands.
Two graduate students, Maxim Vavilov and Aashish Clerk, are currently working with Professor Ambegaokar.
